At Baltic LEI, we're building tools that make global entity verification and compliance simpler, smarter, and scalable. We’re now looking for a Tech Lead to take ownership of one of our most challenging and promising backend projects — a technically complex system that we’re developing into a new standalone business vertical.
As Tech Lead, you’ll work hands-on in our Laravel codebase, guide architectural and technical decisions, and coordinate the efforts of other developers. You'll collaborate closely with the CTO and business team to ensure we’re building the right thing — and building it right.
What You’ll Do:
- Write code — primarily in Laravel (PHP), with MongoDB and Elasticsearch
- Own the tech direction — collaborate with the CTO and senior engineers to shape architecture and technical approaches
- Lead & grow the team — provide direction, code reviews, and mentorship to other developers
- Translate ideas into specs — work closely with the business team to clarify needs and write actionable specifications
- Ship features — ensure quality by writing automated tests, performing manual QA, and monitoring live performance
- Grow the product — help turn this project into a scalable product and a successful business vertical
About You:
- You’re a senior backend developer with strong Laravel experience
- You think in systems and patterns, not just in tickets
- You’ve led or mentored teams before, formally or informally
- You enjoy diving deep into complex domains and untangling messy business logic
- You’re curious about product and business strategy, not just code
- You take responsibility — when something breaks, you’re the kind of person who finds out why
Why This Role is Exciting:
- You’ll be working on a project that’s core to our business growth — not a side feature
- The codebase is complex and interesting — it will challenge your skills
- Your decisions will have direct impact — technically, organizationally, and commercially
- You’ll work in a tight-knit team that values autonomy, clarity, and good judgment
